METHOD OF DIAGNOSING KIDNEY PARENCHYMA INJURY AFTER DISTANT SHOCK WAVE LITHOTRIPSY Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61B5/55

Abstract RU 2551919 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention is applied for the quantitative estimation of the kidney parenchyma injury after remote shock-wave lithotripsy (RSWLT). MRI is carried out with obtaining diffusion-suspended images with the automatic determination of a measured diffusion coefficient (MDC), and if its value is lower than 85%, an injury of the kidney parenchyma is diagnosed. Echo-planar pulse succession of SE type is used in the mode of spin echo with the isolation of a hyper-intensive signal and parameters of its analysis: TR=11250 ms; TE=68.7 ms; cut width 7 mm; FOV=38 mm; matrix 128*128, quantity of repeats - 8; value of a diffusion factor b=600 s/mm, and average duration of the research is 1 min 49 sec.

EFFECT: method ensures not only the non-invasive qualitative, visual estimation of the parenchyma injury degree, but also quantitative estimation by the measured diffusion coefficient, fast - immediately after carrying out the research - obtaining the result, which is especially significant for the patients, requiring more than one session of distant shock-wave lithotripsy.
