FIELD: oil, gas and coke-chemical industries.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil processing industry, in particular, to methods of loading protective layer materials into hydrotreating reactors of hydrocarbon material. In method of loading materials of protective layer into hydrotreating reactors of hydrocarbon raw material by filling them above catalyst layer, protective layer materials are additionally placed in mesh baskets located simultaneously in layer of protective materials and layer of hydrotreating catalyst. Materials of the protective layer are represented by active filtration materials and catalytically active materials; geometrical dimensions of the granules/pellets of the protective layer materials are not more than 5 cm. Number of baskets is 1–12. Length of baskets is 0.2–0.4 of height of reactor part loaded with hydrotreating catalyst and protective layer materials. Depth of submersion of baskets makes 0.1–0.4 of height of part of reactor loaded with hydrotreating catalyst and materials of protective layer. Distance between baskets or to reactor wall makes at least 0.45 of basket diameter. Upper part of mesh baskets are placed above protective layer materials or buried in layer of protective layer materials.

EFFECT: invention prolongs the service life of the catalytic system of hydrotreating reactors by increasing the area of the contact surface of the catalyst layer with the feed stream, which reduces the rate of increase in the resistance of the catalyst system (pressure drop in the hydrotreating reactor).
