FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control and measuring equipment, namely to control of defectiveness of winding wires insulation. Disclosed method consists in supply of high voltage to sensor of defects and in formation of defects pulses, duration Ti of which is determined by the discharge burning time between the live wire and the defect sensor electrodes during the defective wire insulation area passage in the core of the defect sensor, wherein air space in the defect sensor area is continuously irradiated with ultraviolet radiation, wherein the sensor of defects before the control is pre-calibrated, for which on the defect-free section of the wire insulation an artificial dot defect is made in the form of a puncture to a conductive core of the wire, after which said section of wire is repeatedly drawn through defect sensor and at each subsequent pulling voltage on sensor is increased in comparison with previous drawing.
EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of monitoring.
