FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to diagnostics, and can be used for early differential diagnostics of acute pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. Method comprises examining patient's blood serum sample prepared by drying blood serum, milling the dry sludge and suspending it in vaseline oil, conducting a research using infrared spectroscopy in the area of 1,200-1,000 cm-1. Peak height of absorption bands with maxima 1,165, 1,150, 1,090, 1,080, 1,070, 1,050 cm-1 is being determined, values of five ratios of peak heights are measured - first - with maximum 1,165 cm-1 to the peak height with maximum 1,150 cm-1, second - the ratio of the peak height with maximum 1,165 cm-1 to the peak height with maximum 1,090 cm-1, third - the ratio of the peak height with maximum 1,165 cm-1 to the peak height with maximum 1,080 cm-1, fourth - the ratio of the peak height with maximum 1,165 cm-1 to the peak height with maximum 1,070 cm-1, fifth - the ratio of the peak height with maximum 1,165 cm-1 to the peak height with maximum 1,050 cm-1. Acute pancreatitis is diagnosed when the ratios are: first - 0.71±0.20, second - 1.09±0.11, third - 1.10±0.10, fourth - 0.78±0.32 and fifth - 1.00±0.32. If the ratios values are: first - 0.41±0.07, second - 0.50±0.30, third - 0.52±0.23, fourth - 0.32±0.11 and fifth - 0.43±0.23, pancreatic cancer is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method enables the early differential diagnostics of acute pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer.
