FIELD: data processing.

SUBSTANCE: method is proposed to determine elevator downtime and its serviceability. Data on movement of elevator cabin are collected and accumulated. Elevator malfunction signal is generated in case the current idle time exceeds the previously calculated one. Data on movement of elevator cabin are systematized in time intervals and on weekends, holidays and working days. Threshold for making a decision on serviceability of elevator for each time interval of day is determined separately for output, holiday and working days, taking into account average value of number of elevator trips, standard deviation, calculated for this interval, and one-sided Student's quantile. Time that the elevator was faulty is calculated separately for output, holiday and working days, taking into account the average number of lift trips for the taken time interval and the actual number of trips at that time interval.

EFFECT: higher reliability of results of calculations of serviceability of elevator and time of its idle time.
