SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding, concerns the issue of creating in the ice test basin a channel with ice fragments for carrying out tests of models of ice-going vessels. Disclosed is a device for forming a simulated ice cover channel in an ice test basin, comprising a platform moving along an ice cover, on which rotary blades are rigidly fixed on a shaft with an electric drive, made in the form of a module consisting of at least two diametrically opposite oriented rectangular strips lying in one plane and with angular displacement around the axis of the shaft relative to the adjacent blades of knives by an angle α = 360°/n, where n is number of knives blades in module. Knife modules are located along the shaft with shift from adjacent modules of knives at specified distance and with angular rotation relative to them around shaft by angle β, equal mainly α/2. Free ends of module rotary blades are bent in opposite sides so that L-shaped knife blade surface is formed. Length of knife bent parts makes at least half of distance between adjacent knife modules along shaft. Number of knife modules is determined by width of channel prepared in test basin.

EFFECT: proposed device provides formation of simulated ice cover with ice fragments corresponding to the scale of ice models of vessels tested in ice channel in ice experimental pool.
