FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to degassing of liquid metal in ladle. In the method, slag is removed from the surface of the metal in the ladle, closed with a cover, a disc made of ceramic material is lowered from the metal surface on top, is connected to a vacuum system with vacuum of 10-2 Pa, rotation of the disc is started at rate of 20 rpm for 10 minutes, then rotation is disconnected, the vacuum system is disconnected, the cover is opened and the metal is poured.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of liquid metal degassing in ladle due to increased depth of evacuation and degassing by action of rotating disc on liquid metal.
