FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates in particular to the process of saturation of liquid metal in a ladle with nitrogen. The slag is removed from the surface of the metal in the ladle, the ladle is closed with a lid, a disc of ceramic material is lowered onto the metal surface from above, the disc is rotated at a speed of 20 rpm for 10 minutes. After closing the ladle with a lid, nitrogen is supplied at a pressure of 2 atm through the supply lines connected to the lid and the nitrogen supply is stopped when rotation of the disc is turned off, after turning off the rotation, the lid is opened and the metal is poured.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase liquid metal saturation with nitrogen in the ladle due to constant renewal of the volumes of liquid metal in contact with nitrogen by means of the action of a rotating disc on the liquid metal.
