FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy and is intended for production of activated aluminium powder used as an energy additive in various compositions. Method of activating aluminium powder, comprising impregnation of initial aluminium powder with gel obtained by melting vanadium oxide (V) with subsequent addition of melt to distilled water while stirring, filtration and drying, in which after adding the melt into distilled water, holding is carried out at temperature of not more than 100 °C for 1.5–2.0 hours, initial aluminium powder is impregnated with gel at ratio of gel (g): aluminium powder (g) = 0.34–4.2:1 and additionally heat treatment is performed at temperature of 300–310 °C for 0.5–0.6 hours.
EFFECT: technical result is providing reduction of temperature of beginning of combustion when heated in air.
