FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing magnesium aluminate involves mixing solutions of magnesium and aluminum salts, taken in molar ratio of magnesium and aluminum 1:2 with a precipitator. Then reaction mixture is dried at room temperature and calcined at 700–1000 °C for 0.75–1 hours. Precipitation agent used is sulphonated polystyrene.
EFFECT: higher efficiency due to reduced number and duration of operations, as well as low calcination temperature.
