FIELD: aerospace engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aerospace engineering, particularly, to fuel tanks. Fuel tank of liquid propulsion units of heavy lift rockets consists of sections and represents single fuel tank of cylindrical shape. Tank is installed on upper and lower trusses. Sections in upper and lower parts of cylinder are combined by collectors. Maximum characteristic dimensions of sections for cylindrical tanks with diameter D is less than tank radius by 5÷10 %. Accommodation of loads by external surfaces of sections in radial direction is ensured by installation on the external cylindrical surface of the assembled tank of additional mesh or ring elements of the structure, which are closed along the diameter and take up the load for tension. Axial load and bending load are received by carcass from power longitudinal elements at joints of sections closed on annular frames in area of upper and lower bottoms. Composite materials are used as materials for production of fuel tank.
EFFECT: simplified manufacturing.
