FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a recombinant polypeptide having pesticidal activity against southwestern corn borer and western corn rootworm, to a method for production thereof, as well as to composition containing it. Also disclosed is a recombinant nucleic acid molecule encoding a polypeptide, having pesticidal activity against southwestern corn borer and western corn rootworm, as well as a host cell, a DNA construct, a vector, a plant and a plant seed containing it. Invention also relates to a method for controlling a population of southwestern corn borer and western corn rootworm using said composition, as well as to a method of protecting plants from southwestern corn borer and western corn rootworm and a method of increasing plant yield using said nucleic acid molecule.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to effectively combat southwestern corn borer and western corn rootworm.
