FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to 5-substituted-6-hydroxy-2,3-diphenylpyrimidine-4 (3H)-ones of general formula I, where: R=CH3; R=C4H9; R=C6H5. Invention also relates to a method of producing 5-substituted-6-hydroxy-2,3-diphenylpyrimidin-4(3H)-ones of general formula I by reacting N-phenylbenzene carboxymidamide with an appropriately substituted propanediole dichloride selected from the group: 2-methylpropanedionyl dichloride, 2-butylpropanedionyl dichloride, 2-phenylpropanedionyl dichloride in molar ratio 1:1.3 in absolute o-xylene medium, then the reaction mass is heated and held at temperature of 144 °C until termination of hydrochloric acid release, o-xylene is distilled and the end product is separated from the solid residue by acid-base reprecipitation.

EFFECT: compounds according to the invention are intended for use in medicine as antifungal agents.
