FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing novel substituted benzofuran-5,6-dicarbonitriles of general formula 1:
, where 1. R=R1=CH3; 2. R=OC2H5, R1=CH3; 3. R=OC2H5, R1=C6H5; 4. R=4-C6H4-CH3, R1=CH3; 5. R=4-C6H4-OCH3, R1=CH3; 6. R=4-C6H4-Cl, R1=CH3; 7. R=2-Tiof, R1=CH3; involving reaction of 4-bromo-5-nitrophthalonitrile with sodium salts of substitured 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds (sodium salt of substituted 1,3-diketones) at temperature 30-40°C for 2-12 hours and molar ratio 4-bromo-5-nitrophthalonitrile: sodium salt of substituted 1,3-diketone=1:2, followed by pouring the reaction mass into 10 ml of cold 1% hydrochloric acid solution. The precipitated resinous residue is extracted with methylene chloride, thoroughly washed with water and chromatographed on silica gel and the eluent (solvent) is evaporated. Said compounds can be used as semi-products in synthesis of fluorescent and biologically active substances.
EFFECT: improved method for synthesis of benzofuran-5,6-dicarbonitriles.
