FIELD: microbiological industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microbiological industry, in particular to apparatus for growing microorganisms on natural gas. Apparatus for growing microorganisms comprises a housing, process pipes for feeding solutions of mineral salts and titration agents, process pipes for feeding methane and air, a jet aerator. Aerator is located vertically in the upper part of the housing and is connected to the liquid phase recirculation system. System includes a heat exchanger, a liquid flow stimulator and pipelines. Pipelines are configured to discharge liquid phase from lower part of housing and to feed it through jet aerator into upper part of housing. System also has a pipeline connecting the lateral side of the housing, which is located above the allowable level of the liquid phase in the housing, with the upper part of the housing to ensure recycling of the gas phase. At that, the gas supply system of the apparatus is designed so that the gas components of the nutrient medium (natural gas and air) are supplied in equal amounts to the gas and liquid phase recirculation circuit. At that, natural gas and air are fed into liquid recirculation circuit immediately after heat exchanger. Mixing elements are coaxially installed inside pipeline of liquid phase recirculation at its height. Each mixing element is formed from two chambers - external and internal. Each chamber has the same cross-section area. Profiled plates are installed inside each chamber to create swirled flow and so that opposite rotation of flows in external and internal chambers is provided.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the productivity of the apparatus by providing the possibility of improving its mass transfer characteristics.
