FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an evaporator assembly for an aerosol generating system, an aerosol generating system and a method of making an evaporator assembly for an aerosol generating system. Assembly comprises a capillary element made of porous glass and having a first end and a second end. Assembly includes heating element. First end of capillary element is made with possibility to communicate with liquid storage part. Heating element is provided on the capillary element second end. Pore size of the capillary element is set so that to enable transfer of the liquid aerosol-forming substrate from the liquid storage part from the capillary element first end to the capillary element second end due to capillary action. Average pore size of capillary element varies from large pores at first end of capillary element to fine pores at second end of capillary element, so that there is gradient of pore size in direction from capillary element first end to capillary element second end. Average size of small pores ranges from 2 to 8 microns and the average size of large pores ranges from 5 to 500 microns. Proposed system comprises main case including casing, power supply, electric circuit and evaporation unit. Method includes a stage of providing a capillary element and a step for providing a heating element. Method also comprises changing average size of pores of capillary element from coarse pores at first end of capillary element to fine pores at second end of capillary element and thus providing a gradient of the pore size in the direction from the capillary element first end to the capillary element second end.

EFFECT: technical result is creation of evaporation unit, which would be simple in cleaning and would be reusable, and would have high heat resistance, and also would eliminate or at least reduce the risk of undesired products when used at high temperatures.
