SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a cartridge for an aerosol generating system and to such a system. The cartridge for the aerosol generating system contains: a case with a hole at a mouthpiece end and an air inlet; a storage compartment located inside the case and made with the possibility of accommodation of liquid aerosol forming substrate; an airflow channel passing from the air inlet to the hole at the mouthpiece end; a fluid-permeable aerosol generating element located inside the case and having the first surface and the second surface opposite to the first surface, while the second surface communicates via fluid with the storage compartment; and a removable seal with a sealing section and a latch section connected to the sealing section, wherein the sealing section is located in the airflow channel above the first surface of the fluid-permeable aerosol generating element, and the latch section passes outward from the case through the air inlet.

EFFECT: elimination of smearing liquid formed on a seal along a mouthpiece during removal of the seal, which can lead to ingestion of liquid substrate by a user.
