FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to devices for taking biopsy material from intraocular new growths. Task is to create a group of inventions, namely a needle for intraocular neoplasm biopsy, which enables to obtain a sufficient amount of biomaterial in one procedure with a minimum number of complications, as well as a method for selecting an optimum needle sharpening angle depending on the height of the new growth. Needle for intraocular neoplasm biopsy has length of 25–39 mm with a nominal outer diameter of 0.4–0.5 mm, is made of a tube with an inner diameter of 0.28–0.38 mm, a mandrin dimension for passing through lumen 0.26–0.36 mm and cut-off angle values of 30–60 degrees with pitch of 15 degrees. Method of selecting the needle end working angle is that at an intraocular new growth of up to 3 mm, a cut-off angle of 60 degrees is selected, if the height of the intraocular new growth is 3–5 mm, a cut-off angle of 45 degrees is selected, and an intraocular new growth of more than 5 mm is used to select a cut-off angle of 30 degrees.
EFFECT: technical result of the group of inventions is to increase the amount and quality of the obtained biomaterial, reduce the time of biopsy and number of fences, minimize the risk of scleral perforation, infection of the surgical area, traumatization and dissemination of tumour cells, the possibility of biopsy of intraocular new growths of various sizes, including with the height of prominence less than 3 mm, which provides accuracy, reliability and versatility of the needle.
