FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing cell blocks for cytological and immunocytochemical (ICC) diagnostics of malignant neoplasms. Cell material obtained by fine-needle aspiration biopsy and endobronchial and endoesophageal ultrasonography with fine-needle aspiration biopsy and histological wiring, placed in eppendorf containing a transport medium consisting of a solution of neutral formalin 10% and isotonic saline 0.9% in ratio 1:1 in volume of 0.8–1.0 ml. Cell suspension is then centrifuged for 5 minutes at 4,000 rpm. Cell sediment is separated by draining supernatant, 1.5 ml of isopropyl alcohol and 5–6 drops of glycerine are added to the precipitate and centrifuged for 5 minutes at rate of 4,000 rpm. Formed cell clot is located in the eppendorf center at the boundary of the two-phase liquid. Supernatant is drained and transferred with a dissecting needle into a biopsy cartridge, at the bottom of which there is a sponge for carrying the biopsy material, and the clot is covered with the same sponge. Closing the cassette lid, placing it in a neutral buffered formalin solution for 12–18 hours, then the cassette with the cell clot is transferred into a histological processor for histological wiring for cytological and ICC studies.
EFFECT: invention provides preservation of morphological structure and antigenic properties of cell material, as well as simplification and acceleration of cell clot formation.
