FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the analysis of precious stones. Method of using a computerized system for determining a group of diamond color, in which the color of the diamond is compared to the color of the diamond from the plurality of diamonds, each having a color group assigned to it, wherein the computerized system includes an optical image obtaining device, a processor module and an output module, functionally connected together. Method comprises steps of: obtaining in a medium having a given constant level of illumination, optical image of the diamond site at a given angle relative to the central axis passing perpendicular to the platform and through the diamond pavilion vertex and towards the platform. In the processor module, image data are compared with multiple data sets, each corresponding to a diamond from a plurality of diamonds. Each data set is obtained from the optical image of the site of a plurality of diamonds in a medium having given constant illumination. Each set of data is assigned a color group from an output module responsive to a given correlation threshold between data obtained from the input of the optical image and one of a plurality of data sets, an output signal indicating a group of diamond color is transmitted.

EFFECT: technical result consists in enabling reproducibility of color group estimation.
