FIELD: carbon balance calculation model.
SUBSTANCE: analysis of cloudless Landsat images for growing seasons for 15 years for the study area. For each scene of multispectral information, thermodynamic characteristics and a set of vegetation indices are calculated. A digital relief model is processed and morphometric characteristics are calculated. Based on the information obtained, the invariants of solar energy conversion are calculated. A mask of forested areas is created. Preliminary classification of forested areas according to the state of forest vegetation using the method of non-threshold iterative dichotomous classification is created. In the obtained classes, at points placed taking into account the spatial variability of the states of forest vegetation, a description of forest vegetation is produced. At the same time, the sum of cross-sectional areas, differentiated by species, the height of the forest stand, age groups and average diameters, differentiated by species, and bonitet are recorded, and the forest vegetation phyto-mass reserves are modelled. Additionally, at each point, the soil cover is drilled to a depth of 0.5 m, samples are taken in increments of 10 cm, the type of soil is described, and the extracted samples are analysed for the organic matter content. Soil cover modelling is carried out. Based on the soil cover model, the intensity of soil carbon losses due to respiration is determined. Based on the data obtained, a calculation model of the carbon balance is built by subtracting the losses of soil carbon due to respiration from the accumulated carbon in the phyto-mass and soil.
