SUBSTANCE: disclosed group of inventions relates to methods and equipment for forming tubes from fibrous material, in particular tubular filter rods for use in cigarettes. Equipment for forming a tubular rod from a bundle of fibrous material, comprising mandrel (73), having an upper end section and a downstream end section with a smaller cross-section area, wherein the mandrel is configured to form a space within the fiber bundle, when fiber bundle moves forward along mandrel (73), wherein mandrel (73) comprises channel (94, 95) with longitudinal axis and outlet (79) between upper end and downstream end sections of mandrel (73) for supply of treatment medium from channel (94, 95) into bundle of fibrous material located in mandrel (73), in direction which is not opposite to direction of beam movement along mandrel (73), note here that channel outlet (79) is oriented at acute angle to channel lengthwise axis (94, 95).
EFFECT: technical result of claimed groups of inventions is higher quality of obtained articles.
