Paging method includes: determining paging time of a first terminal device using at least one first bit of a first identifier of a first terminal device; transmitting a paging message during paging time; wherein the paging system message comprises the first terminal device identifier information, and identifier information is obtained based on at least one second bit, with the exception of at least one first bit, first identifier of first terminal device, or identifier information is obtained based on the second identifier of the first terminal device, wherein the identifier information length is shorter than the second identifier of the first terminal device.

EFFECT: technical result is reduced costs for transmitting signal information.
