FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, particularly to neurosurgery and traumatology, and aims at resection of anterior osteophytes accompanying ventral subaxial cervicospondylodesis in injuries and diseases of the lower jaw spine. Nippers for resection of anterior osteophytes in ventral subaxial cervical spinal cavity consist of handles and working part made in form of 2 blades with cutting edges, connected to handles by double-hinged connection, between handles plate spring is located, on the middle of external sides of handles hook-shaped stops are made. First blade is finished, and its cutting edge is arched, with curvature corresponding to curvature of front surfaces of vertebral bodies. Width of the final blade is equal to width of prepared surface of vertebral bodies. Second blade, support, has rounded prismatic support and arched saddle with stepped transition at level of edge.

EFFECT: using the invention enables creating a level surface of the vertebral bodies, performing the resection of the anterior osteophytosis by one step, improving the osteophytal resection process, reducing the risk of the instrument slipping.
