METHOD FOR ASSESSING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TREATMENT OF DRY EYE SYNDROME IN PATIENTS WITH DIABETES MELLITUS Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC G01N33/48

Abstract RU 2740363 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and discloses a method for evaluating the effectiveness of treating dry eye syndrome in diabetic patients. Method involves investigating a lachrymal fluid and evaluating levels of a soluble form of the receptor for interleukin-6 (sIL-6R) and neutrophil elastase (NE) before and after treatment, and if the level of at least one of the values, i.e. sIL-6 by 60% and more and NE by 50% or more, is decreased, the treatment is considered to be effective.

EFFECT: invention enables higher accuracy of evaluating the effectiveness of treating dry eye syndrome in diabetic patients by detecting such objective markers of inflammatory reaction intensity, as oscillation of levels of soluble form of receptor to interleukin-6 (sIL-6R) and neutrophil elastase (NE) before and after therapy.
