FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and aims at diagnosing dry eye syndrome. Method involves obtaining material from the bulbar and tarsal conjunctive by the method of impression cytology. Preparation is created. Microscopic examination is performed by light microscopy. If observing cytograms of flattened epithelial cells, as well as hyperkeratocytes and disintegrated beaker-like cells in an amount of up to 10, dry eye syndrome is diagnosed in the preparation. Sealed epithelial cells can be presented both in groups of 2–10 cells, and in clusters of 11–30 cells, and in the above mentioned groups and clusters simultaneously. Hyperkeratocytes can be presented from single cells to formations of 31–100 cells, namely as single cells in cytograms, and groups of 2–10 cells, clusters of 11–30 cells, formations of 31–100 cells, and combinations of: single cells and groups of 2–10 cells; single cells and clusters of 11–30 cells; single cells and formations of 31–100 cells; groups of 2–10 cells and clusters of 11–30 cells; 2–10 cell groups and 31–100 cell formations; clusters of 11–30 cells and formations of 31–100 cells; single cells, groups of 2–10 cells and clusters of 11–30 cells; 2–10 cell groups, 11–30 cell clusters and 31–100 cell formations; single cells, groups of 2–10 cells, clusters of 11–30 cells and formations of 31–100 cells.
EFFECT: method enables providing more accurate diagnosis of dry eye syndrome by identifying a number of accurate and objective cytomorphological criteria.
