SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and for the treatment of dry eye syndrome in patients with diabetes mellitus. For this, 0.007% para-aminobenzoic acid is installed into the conjunctival sac as monotherapy. The treatment is carried out within 2 months. During the first month, the drug is administered 3 times a day, during the second month - 2 times a day. If necessary, repeat the course after 2 months.
EFFECT: provides in a short time effective treatment of dry eye syndrome in this group of patients by restoring the regenerative abilities of corneal and conjunctival tissues, immunomodulating and anti-inflammatory action of the drug on these tissues, and simultaneous stimulation of natural tear production.
