FIELD: optical fiber.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of drawing optical fiber and a device for drawing, intended for heating and melting of glass base for optical fiber and drawing of optical fiber. In method of drawing optical fiber, glass base for optical fiber, one end of which is connected to carrier rod, passes through hole, provided in extruding furnace on glass base side. Pulling is performed by suspending and lowering the glass base into a drawing furnace sealed by means of a sealing mechanism. Mechanism is located near hole, in which the sealant first sealing portion seals the gap between the outer peripheral surface of the glass base for the optical fiber and the inner surface of the opening, when drawing begins and the tapered section of the glass base begins to pass through the first sealing part. Second sealing part is located above the first sealing part before the first sealing part becomes inefficient. Then, passing between inner side and external side of stretching furnace, to prevent pressure fluctuation inside the furnace immediately after the second sealing portion is located, and passing is interrupted when the glass base is lowered further.
EFFECT: technical result is prevention of fluctuation of pressure in drawing furnace.
