FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: result is achieved by the fact that cylindrical light-scattering device (300) consists of non-round fiber core (302), including (i) fiber core (350), which provides "top hat" radiation distribution inside the fiber core; (ii) light-insulating means (314) which prevents front light radiation by the distal end of the non-circular fiber core (302); and (iii) a light scattering portion (308) having a scattering proximal end (310), scattering distal end (312), and inner scattering elements (362), distributed inside core of fiber (350) of light-scattering section (308) along central axis (364) of fiber core (350), in which interaction between noncircular fiber core, means of light insulation and internal dissipating elements make it possible to provide constant mixing of light within the area of light scattering (308) and emit radiation in form of radially symmetrical longitudinal "top hat" distribution of scattering radiation.
EFFECT: high homogeneity of the optimum emission profile, as well as high reliability of the light-diffusing device.
