FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the fiber optics, in particular, to the extended light-emitting optical fibers manufacturing technology. Silica glass based light emitting optical fiber comprises core with located inside it scattering centers and reflecting sheath, as well as the light-scattering polymer outer layer, which is in direct contact with the reflective sheath and configured to intercept the scattered light coming out of the core at low angles, in which glassy materials are made from highly pure materials by the chemical vapor deposition modified method. At that, the core is doped with germanium dioxide in the amount of not less than 10 mol. %, the polymer outer layer has a PP larger than that of the glass of the reflecting sheath, and has causing the light scattering optical heterogeneity, and the core scattering (α) optical losses coefficient increases along the fiber BC (x) length in accordance with the formula

where α0 is the scattering coefficient value on the BC initial segment.
EFFECT: increase in the light emitting optical fibers illumination intensity and uniformity, as well as increase in their length to hundreds of meters in order to use them as extended light indicators.
