AUTONOMOUS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC G21C5/00

Abstract RU 2741330 C1

FIELD: nuclear physics and equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a nuclear reactor suitable for generation of electric energy for hard-to-reach territories and islands of the Arctic using a non-serviced double-circuit liquid-salt nuclear reactor. Reactor has power of 1-5 MW, is cooled by outboard water with an active zone in the form of liquid-salt melt and graphite. Autonomous nuclear power plant consists of external and internal housings, space between which is filled with heat-insulating material in form of inert gas. Inside the inner housing there is an active zone, which includes graphite blocks of the decelerator with channels for liquid-salt fuel and channels around the core with heat tubes inserted into them with thermoelectric generators. On the cover of the reactor housing there is a gasholder, inside the gasholder there is a gas absorber with a batcher supplying the fuel salt to the liquid-salt fuel elements. Latter are external pipes the butt ends of which are plugged from below and welded to fuel collector top header from above. In pipes there are internal pipe inserts installed coaxially with opening with open ends, note here that fuel salt that is circulating in liquid salt fuel elements fuel salt is cooled outside with additional liquid-salt heat carrier without fuel circulating both in channels of graphite blocks of core decelerator and in channels of side and bottom reflectors.

EFFECT: design of a small modular reactor plant with a high-temperature core on the basis of uranium-containing salt melt Be-Li-F with mode of its natural circulation.
