FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to pediatrics, and can be used for diagnosing connective tissue dysplasia in a newborn. A diagnostic technique for connective tissue dysplasia in a newborn is to determine the erythrocyte magnesium level (mmol/l) and the level of matrix metalloproteinase I (ng/ml) in blood serum, wherein the study is carried out twice: immediately after the birth of child and 3 days after birth, calculating the ratio of the level of matrix metalloproteinase I to the erythrocyte magnesium level, if this ratio is increased by at least 25%, the presence of connective tissue dysplasia in the newborn is diagnosed, otherwise the connective tissue dysplasia in the newborn is unlikely.
EFFECT: invention provides reliable detection of connective tissue dysplasia in the newborn.
