FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is polynucleotide sequencing system and method. System comprises a sequencing device, a memory containing a reference nucleotide sequence, and a processor configured to controll the device for sequencing and executing instructions for realizing the method. Method includes obtaining the first nucleotide sequence of reading, secondary analysis of the first nucleotide sequence of reading based on the reference sequence using the first or second sequence alignment methods, determination of the need for generation of additional nucleotide readings by a sequencing device. Second method of aligning sequences is more efficient with respect to calculation than first method of aligning sequences, and secondary analysis includes determination of first subsequence of reference sequence and determining differences between the first nucleotide subsequence and the first subsequence of the reference sequence.
EFFECT: invention provides secondary analysis of nucleotide sequencing data in a time-saving manner.
