In some embodiments of the present invention, there are devices configured to vaporise the aerosol precursor composition by heating by radiation. As a source of thermal radiation there can be used a laser diode or other element suitable for providing electromagnetic radiation, wherein heating can be carried out in an additional chamber, which can be a radiation trapping chamber. In some embodiments, the inner part of such a chamber can be in the form of a black body or a white body.
