FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an atomizer and an aerosol delivery device containing an atomizer. The atomizer contains a fluid transfer element in the form of rigid porous monolith, wherein the fluid transfer element has the first end, which is tapering, and the second end. The atomizer contains a heater having a conical configuration and containing an inner area that receives the tapering first end of the fluid transfer element and approximately corresponds to it. The fluid transfer element has a main case with a longitudinal length passing between the tapering first end and the second end, wherein a diameter of the main case is approximately constant along its longitudinal length, the tapering first end forms from about 5% to about 50% of the total length of the fluid transfer element, the tapering first end narrows from the first diameter, which is approximately equal to the diameter of the main case, to the second diameter, which is approximately 50% or less of the diameter of the main case of the fluid transfer element. The heater has an upper end with a diameter approximately equal to the diameter of the main case of the fluid transfer element. The heater has a height that is approximately equal to the length of the tapering first end of the fluid transfer element. The heater has a lower end with a diameter that is approximately 50% or less of the diameter of the upper end of the heater.
EFFECT: increase in the heat flux density over the surface area of porous monolith is provided, so that the necessary evaporation can be achieved without the need for higher heater output energy.
