FIELD: pharmaceuticals.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a non-aqueous composition of a dentifrice. Disclosed composition comprises a fluoride ion source selected from alkali metal fluoride, an alkali metal monofluorophosphate, tin fluoride and amine fluoride in amount, which provides from 25 to 3500 ppm (parts per million) of fluoride ions, and a carrier containing: carbomer as a thickener in amount of 0.3 to 1 % of the weight of the composition; solvents for the composition, which are glycerine in amount of 50 to 70 % of the weight of the composition and polyethylene glycol in amount of 15 to 25 % of the weight of the composition; and a surfactant system, consisting of first surfactant and second surfactant. First surfactant is n-alkyl amido betaine, specifically cocamidopropyl betaine, in amount of 0.05 to 4 % of the weight of the composition. Second surfactant is sodium methyl cocoyl taurate in amount of 0.5 to 2 % of composition weight or C10-20alkyl sulphate surfactant, which is sodium lauryl sulphate in amount of 0.5 to 2 % of weight of composition.
EFFECT: non-aqueous composition containing said surfactants system provides much better organoleptic properties compared to properties observed in composition, containing one single surfactant (sodium lauryl sulphate); such organoleptic properties include one or more of improved taste, improved distribution and consistency of foam and improved characteristics of foam, such as intensity and density.
