FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of optical inspection of containers. Method of checking reservoirs for contamination and three-dimensional structure of reservoir includes providing radiation source, wherein radiation source is capable of emitting radiation, which is illuminated by analysed reservoir, wherein the radiation source comprises several spatially separated radiation zones capable of emitting radiation of different wavelength ranges. Method also includes providing a detector capable of detecting radiation, which has been emitted by a radiation source and passed through a reservoir, and providing a data processing device which is capable of estimating radiation detected by the detector on contamination and damage to the reservoir. At that radiation is detected by detector, wherein radiation has been emitted by radiation source radiation zones and passed through the analysed reservoir, and evaluation by the data processing device of radiation detected by the detector, on contamination and damage of the analysed reservoir. At the same time, a brightness contrast image and a colour contrast image are created, and the data processing device compares the brightness contrast image and the colour contrast image.

EFFECT: technical result consists in providing the possibility of improving the reliability of checking reservoirs.
