FIELD: medicine, namely endocrinology and surgery.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to predict healing in diabetic foot syndrome. The mitotic activity of granulation tissue is analyzed by assessing the content of the nuclear protein Ki67 in it, determined on serial paraffin sections of a wound biopsy with an assessment of immunohistochemical reactions by the content of stained cells per 300 cells of granulation tissue, taken as 100%. With a Ki67 value of 12% or more, the wound heals on its own as a result of conservative therapeutic measures. At values less than 12%, healing can occur only after surgery.
EFFECT: invention provides the ability to predict the outcome of a chronic wound in diabetic foot syndrome.
