SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to water intake devices. Shut-off element for use in hydrant includes body of main valve and sealing surface, which are made with possibility of bringing into mutually sealing contact. Sealing surface is provided on its inner perimeter at least in some sections with a recess that is formed with variable depth in sealing surface. Recess is made on sealing surface section, which is made with possibility of its passage by main valve body for opening and closing shutoff member. Hydrant includes shut-off element, which includes body of main valve and sealing surface, which are made with possibility of bringing into mutually sealing contact. Sealing surface is provided on its inner perimeter at least in some sections with a recess that is formed with variable depth in sealing surface. Recess is made on sealing surface section, which is made with possibility of its passage by main valve body for opening and closing shutoff member. Seat of the main valve can be removed with the possibility of being inserted into the hydrant shut-off member part so that the main valve seat and the main valve body enveloped in the hydrant can be brought into mutually sealing contact. Seat of main valve has on its inner perimeter sealing surface, which at least in separate sections is equipped with a recess, which with variable depth is formed in sealing surface. Recess is made on sealing surface section, which is made with possibility of its passage by main valve body for opening and closing shutoff member.

EFFECT: providing a shut-off element that does not cause hydraulic shocks.
