SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for gripping a workpiece that is attached to a robot. The gripping device (10) includes a gripping element (20) and a holding element (22). The gripping element (20) contains a pair of elongated sections (26) that protrude from the base (24) and are located opposite each other with a gap into which the plate section (Wp) of the workpiece (W) can be inserted, where the gripping element (20) is made with the possibility of deformation, ensuring the approach or removal of at least sections of the elongated sections (26) to each other or from each other. The retaining element (22) has a slot (32) designed to hold the gripping element (20) slidably along the protruding direction of the elongated sections (26), where the retaining element (22) is configured to bring the elongated sections (26) closer to each other beyond by placing at least portions of the elongated sections (26) in the slot (32) and removing the elongated portions (26) from each other due to the protrusion of at least portions of the elongated portions (26) from the slot (32).
EFFECT: invention provides for gripping parts of various shapes that at least partially include a plate portion.
