SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of analytical chemistry, namely, to a method for preparing samples of oilfield reagents for the determination of organochlorine compounds and organically bound chlorine. The method of sample preparation of oilfield chemical reagents for the determination of organochlorine compounds and organically bound chlorine includes a sampling of the studied sample, the introduction of demulsifier to separate water-hydrocarbon emulsions, the introduction of the solvent, the implementation of separation of water-hydrocarbon emulsion by centrifugation with subsequent segregation of mixture to the polar and nonpolar phases, the implementation of extraction of chlorinated compounds from the extraction mixture, selection of the aliquot of the solvent extract for subsequent analysis and determination of the absence or presence of chlorine compounds in the aliquot of the solvent. If chlorine compounds are detected, repeated extraction is carried out with the determination of chlorine in the polar phase until the chlorine is completely absent in it. After achieving the absence of chlorine compounds in the polar phase, the non-polar phase aliquot is selected for subsequent determination of the chlorine content in the non-polar phase aliquot.

EFFECT: increased accuracy and reliability of determining the quantitative content of organochlorine compounds present in reagents, that form water-hydrocarbon emulsions, and in water-hydrocarbon emulsions.
