SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry. The method for preparing samples of oilfield chemicals for the determination of organochlorine compounds includes sampling the test sample of the chemical reagent, introducing a solvent, which is a mixture of nefras and ethyl alcohol in a ratio of 9:1, extracting organochlorine compounds from the mixture, followed by separation into non-polar and polar phases, the polar phase is separated and the non-polar phase is treated three times with water to remove inorganic chlorides, filtration, an aliquot of the filtered non-polar phase is taken and the absence or content of organochlorine compounds is determined; and determination of organochlorine compounds in an aliquot of the non-polar phase until they are completely absent.
EFFECT: ensuring high accuracy and reliability of the quantitative content of COS in chemical reagents.
