FIELD: analytical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of analytical chemistry, and in particular to methods for preparing samples and determining organochlorine compounds of oilfield chemicals and organically bound chlorine in a sample of an oilfield chemical. The method for determining organochlorine compounds in a sample of an oilfield chemical reagent includes preparing a sample of an oilfield chemical reagent, including: sampling the test sample of the chemical reagent, determining the solubility of the chemical reagent in polar and non-polar solvents, in the case of the solubility of the chemical reagent in a non-polar solvent, introducing a solution of nitric acid into the sample of the chemical reagent mercury, stirring the resulting mixture until precipitation, draining the lower part, taking an aliquot of the chemical reagent for subsequent determination of the absence or presence of organic chlorine compounds; in the case of the solubility of a chemical reagent in a polar solvent, introducing a non-polar extractant into the sample of the chemical reagent, extracting organochlorine compounds by stirring and settling the mixture, draining the polar part, introducing a solution of mercury nitrate into the non-polar extractant, stirring the mixture until a precipitate forms, draining the lower part and taking an aliquot of the non-polar extractant for subsequent determination of the absence or presence of organic chlorine compounds, followed by determination of the content of organic chlorine compounds in the prepared sample.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy and reliability of determining the quantitative content of organochlorine compounds present in chemical reagents.
