FIELD: analytical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry, namely to a method for determining the content of organic chlorine in chemical reagents and assessing their effect on the level of organochlorine compounds and organically bound chlorine in oil. A method for determining the content of organochlorine compounds and organically bound chlorine in chemical reagents and evaluating the effect of chemical reagents on the formation of organochlorine compounds and organically bound chlorine in oil includes the introduction of a sample of a chemical reagent into an oil sample, a model of oil or petroleum product in a selected ratio, followed by distillation of the resulting mixture and obtaining fractions boiling at different temperatures and a cubic residue, washing the resulting fractions and/or cubic residue with water until the inorganic chlorine compounds are completely removed, selection of the aliquot of the distilled fraction and/or the cubic residue for subsequent analysis and determination of the content of organic chlorine in the aliquot, summation of the results of the determination of organic chlorine in the distilled fractions and the cubic residue to determine the content of total organic chlorine in the chemical.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy and reliability of determining the quantitative content of organochlorine compounds in chemical reagents and their contribution to the content of organochlorine compounds in oil.
