FIELD: automotive industry.

SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to means for controlling a direction indicator in a vehicle. The proposed method for controlling the direction indicator comprises the steps of obtaining each location of a plurality of points for determining the direction of the direction in order to determine whether to perform the direction indication on the proposed route of movement along which the vehicle is supposed to move; determining whether one of the turning indication determination points belongs to a roundabout when the vehicle approaches close to the corresponding turning indication determination point; and prohibiting the direction indicator of the vehicle from performing the direction indication when the vehicle enters the roundabout when it is determined that the corresponding turning indication determination point to which the vehicle is approaching close belongs to the roundabout. Another variant of the claimed method is also implemented, as well as two variants of the device that implement these methods.

EFFECT: proposed means make it possible to ensure efficient vehicle control at roundabouts.
