SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of applied ecology, namely, to the problems of studying and evaluating environmental pollution, in particular, it can be used to assess using biomonitoring methods environmental pollution with dioxins as a result of emissions from landfills and waste disposal plants. The method for assessing environmental pollution with dioxins produced by landfills and waste disposal plants by biomonitoring includes the use of a red-backed vole of the summer and winter seasons as an object of biomonitoring, while sample selection of whole animal carcasses for three samples is carried out within a given time period, and each sample contains at least 3 carcasses of red-backed vole individuals, and the presence of dioxin congeners that are highly toxic to humans is determined in those by high-resolution chromatography-mass spectrometry, while the contamination of the region is determined by the difference in or excess of the concentrations in samples of carcasses of red-backed vole carcasses of the summer season, selected in the month of August, relative to conventionally background levels of dioxins in samples of red-backed vole carcasses selected in the winter after snow cover melting.

EFFECT: technical result of the claimed invention is the expansion of the arsenal of technical means and methods designed to assess with a high degree of reliability pollution of the environment with dioxins produced by the emissions of landfills and waste disposal plants.
