FIELD: biological monitoring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biomonitoring and may be used to assess the initial effects of ecotoxicity of environmental dioxin pollution. Essence: a sample is formed from individuals of a functional grouping of the natural population of the bank vole Clethrionomys glareolus in the summer season from a contaminated area with severe exposure of individuals. A sample is formed from individuals of the natural population of the bank vole Clethrionomys glareolus from a conditionally control area with their conditionally control exposure. Through the synthesis of complementary DNA and the subsequent quantitative polymerase chain reaction for individuals from both samples, the expression levels of the AhR and CYP1A2 genes, as well as the transcription of the SINE B1 and LINE1 retrotransposons, are measured. The obtained values for the expression levels of the AhR and CYP1A2 genes and transcription of the SINE B1 and LINE1 retrotransposons are compared between the samples, taking the maximum values for animals from the conditional control sample as each reference point. When values above the maximum appear in the sample of animals living in a contaminated area, these indicators are evaluated as evidence of the development of response reactions of intracellular biosystems to the action of dioxins and their accompanying xenobiotics and the triggering of the initial effects of ecotoxicity of the environment contaminated with dioxins.
EFFECT: increased reliability of assessment of the initial effects of a dioxin-contaminated environment.
