SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication of a mobile communication device with a portable device through a short-range radio link connection, wherein the mobile communication device serves as a relay node, enabling connection of portable device with support network. For this, when communicating a mobile communication device with a portable device through a short-range radio interface connection, in which mobile communication device functions as a relay node, enabling connectivity of a portable device with a reference network, matching capabilities of a NAS layer for connecting a portable device to a mobile communication device and for operation of portable device using mobile communication device as a relay node.

EFFECT: technical result is enabling possibility, at which portable devices with NAS layer functionality or without it can be registered and are removed from registration in MNO operator network through relay UE, which makes portable devices controlled and/or known support network, that is, portable devices can have a subscription with an MNO operator without having to have a cellular modem.
