FIELD: personal hygiene devices.
SUBSTANCE: hand-held personal care device contains light emitting and light receiving elements and a control unit. Light-emitting and light-receiving elements are located on the device with the option for the latter to be receiving light by the former, and reflected by the reflective surface in the environment of the subject. The control unit is configured to estimate the position and / or orientation of the device relative to the subject based on the analysis of the respective measurement signals of the light-receiving elements to determine for each such element whether it has received light from the light-emitting elements and / or (ii) from which of the light-emitting elements light was received.
EFFECT: technical result is to provide the ability for a personal hygiene device to automatically adjust its settings, taking into account the location to optimize the performance of the device.
