FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the method of producing 3-methyl-3-butene-1-ol, which is the initial material for the production of synthetic fragrances and vitamins A, E. Method consists in the interaction of formaldehyde with isobutylene at elevated temperature and pressure with preliminary heating of formaldehyde to 80-150°. In this case, formaldehyde is preheated in a reactor filled with a solid acid catalyst.
EFFECT: proposed method allows increasing the selectivity of the target product with improved quality characteristics.
